Message from Clair Delfino, Member, Parks & Recreation Advisory Council for Area 4-B
The Old multipurpose room of the original Dillard School will be Wilton’s Community Center, a place to meet; a place to gather and enjoy; a place to have your birthday parties, your dances, movie nights, community dinners, community meetings such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H clubs, horse groups, Garden Clubs, Card Clubs, etc. Any organizational meeting, a place to meet, it will be available for all to use.
We will have CPR classes, Art classes, exercise groups, Flu shot Clinics, an information center for all of Wilton to learn of what’s happening in the neighborhood and community
The History Group will have their History Day Event, their Flea Market, their group meetings, and their Bingo.
We will need Fundraisers to support the building for repairs and upkeep, volunteers to help keep the place going. Organizations can work off the rent fee by cleaning the building or working on the yard – could be a 4-H or Scout project or a community service project that high school students need for graduation.
The fees are being put together, as they have to be approved by the Board of Supervisors. The County will take care of the reservations, but the fees are important as this is how the light bulbs and toilet paper and cleaning supplies are purchased.
This is where you the community comes in, support every fundraiser that comes up; Donate. We have our Tax ID Number, support us. It has been 25 years of long hard work to get this Center, let us know how you want the building to be used. It’s yours to use.
