Sacramento County Parks and Rec Area 4-B wish to thank all who came to to our Christmas Winter Festival and Parade Saturday December 8th. This is an annual event, our 10th year. We of the council work hard for this event to be put on. Our founder, Mary Morgan, started this event 10 years ago, she was determined the children of Wilton would have a fun day with a parade and meet Santa, and of course have their cocoa and cookies. We of the Parks and Rec Board have tried to carry this on.
I’d like to thank our community for coming out, the weather was good to us, we have great people in our community. Our firefighters put on a delicious breakfast.
Our Dillard School Pace Program, provided a great lunch. The vendors arrived, set up their tents and items with the help of High School students in need of community service time.
Thank You County Sheriffs Reserve Forces for special events. Without them the parade could not be put on.
A special thank you to Chief Cookson for leading the parade in our new 2018 Rescue Fire truck
Also our ladies that baked and provided all the cookies for the children, a very large thank you to them.
And not to forget the man himself, SANTA, he arrived in a 1913 antique fire truck, which was a little tired and had to be towed in for Santa to meet the children.
I want to thank the best team a person could have to make this event go , I thank you all!!
The Parks and Rec Area 4-B of Sacramento County thank you all. See ya next year!
